Lillian Bailey Torian of Penick Avenue, South Boston died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 68. Born in Halifax County on April 20, 1942, to the late James E. Bailey and Effie Judkins Bailey, she was married to the late Charles Torian and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ferry Street, South Boston.

Mrs. Torian is survived by two sons, Charles Torian Jr. and Christopher Torian, both of South Boston, ten grandchildren, Savaughn Bailey, Quana Terry, Crystal Torian, Shiqutta Sanford, Bruce Jackson Jr. Brittany Hilliburton, LaQia Torian, Sha-Nita, Kiara Torian and Semaj Torian, six great great grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Edwina Sanford.

A funeral for Mrs. Torian will be held Wednesday, April 13 at noon at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1401 Penick Avenue, South Boston.
