Lowery Pleasant, 74, of Randolph, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on Oct. 16, 1946, son of the late Algie Pleasant and Esley Pleasant. He was married to Constance Mae Bruce Pleasant and was employed with J.P. Stevens for 35 years.

Mr. Pleasant is survived by his wife, Constance Mae Bruce Pleasant of the home; four children, Shelisa P. Artis of North Chesterfield, Michelle P. Brooks (Derwin), Deborah Dixon (Calvin) and Lowery Tim Pleasant, all of Randolph; six grandchildren; five siblings, William Pleasant (Gazetta), Leslie Pleasant Sr. (Audrey), Algie L. Pleasant, Estelle Pleasant and Lorraine Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Homie Lovelace and Mary Bruce; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Prezell Pleasant.

A funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Bowman, eulogist. Burial will follow in Bethel Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Thursday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.
