Lucille Coleman Toone of Chatham Road, Halifax died on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond at the age of 77.

Mrs. Toone was born in Halifax County Jan. 31, 1940 to the late Howard Coleman and Lora Mitchell Coleman. She was married to Herbert Arthur Toone and was a member of Spanish Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Toone is survived by her husband Herbert Arthur Toone of Halifax; two sons, Travis Toone of Yonkers, N.Y., and Rick Toone of New Vernon; a daughter, Kim Toone of Danville; two granddaughters, Tiffany McAllister of Danville and Shannon Toone of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., four brothers, Charlie Coleman (Jackie) of Maryland; James Coleman (Ruby), Peter Coleman (Frances) and Richard Coleman, all of Halifax; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgeanna Eargle and Mabel Lovelace; two brothers, Nathaniel Coleman and Dwight Coleman.

A funeral will be held Sunday, Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. at Spanish Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 1240 Chatham Road, Halifax
