Luther Marshall Cardwell

Luther Marshall Cardwell of 4421 Clyde Street, Virginia Beach died, Friday, March 21, 2014, at Virginia Beach General Hospital.

He was born in Durham, N.C., on Saturday, Nov. 19, 1921 and was 92 years of age.

He was the son of the late Albert McCoy Cardwell and Addie Belle Allen Cardwell and was married to the late Louise Owen Cardwell. Mr.Cardwell was a retired jet mechanic with Norfolk Air Station and was a US Navy veteran during WWII.

Survivors include one son, Michael Rian Cardwell of Virginia Beach. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Marshall Ernest Cardwell, one brother, Willie Thomas Cardwell, and one sister, Lilly C. Rigsby.

A graveside service for Mr. Cardwell will be held Thursday, March 27 at the Clover Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Don Bryant officiating.
