Margaret Dawson Reese of 3046 Leda-Grove Road, Nathalie, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born in Pittsylvania County, on March 28, 1934, and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Albert Ross Dawson and Nettie Wicker Dawson and is survived by her husband James Phillip “Buddy” Reese.

Mrs. Reese was a member of the First Baptist Church of Millstone.

She is survived by her husband, James Phillip “Buddy” Reese of Nathalie; two daughters, Deana Willard and her husband Ron of Rocky Mount and Donna Lynn Martin of Charleston, S.C.; one son, Darryl Martin and wife Amy of Roanoke; one stepson, Phil Reese and wife Kathy of Paducah, Ky.; two step-daughters, Janet Reese of Richmond and Beth Coates and husband Walter of Nathalie; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorean D. Wade of Nathalie, Lois D. Tharpe and husband Tucker of Rustburg and Betty D. Terry of Gretna; three brothers, W. E. “Punk” Dawson of Rustburg, Guy D. “Pat” Dawson and wife Thelma of Rustburg, Curtis A. Dawson and wife Carolyn of Gladys. She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Dawson Crowder Glass and one Brother, Lacy A Dawson.

A funeral for Mrs. Reese will be held at the First Baptist Church of Millstone, Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Rob Blake officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home, Thursday, 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home
