Margaret Dawson Reese

Margaret Dawson Reese, 77, of 3046 Leda-Grove Road, Nathalie, Virginia died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was born in Pittsylvania County on March 28, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Albert Ross Dawson and Nettie Wicker Dawson. She was married to James Phillip “Buddy” Reese and was member of First Baptist Church of Millstone.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Deana Willard and husband Ron of Rocky Mount and Donna Lynn Martin of Charleston, S.C. one son, Darryl Martin and wife Amy of Roanoke; one step-son, Phil Reese and wife Kathy of Paducah, Ky., two step-daughters, Janet Reese of Richmond and Beth Coates and husband Walter of Nathalie; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorean D. Wade of Nathalie, Lois D. Tharpe and husband Tucker of Rutsburg and Betty D. Terry of Gretna; three brothers, W.E. “Punk” Dawson of Rustburg, Guy D. “Pat” Dawson and wife Thelma of Rustburg, Curtis A. Dawson and wife Carolyn of Gladys, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Dawson Crowder Glass and one brother, Lacy A. Dawson.

A funeral was held Friday at First Baptist Church of Millstone with Rev. Rob Blake officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
