Marie Etta Eugene also known as “Dolly” was born in Boydton, on July 3, 1938 to the late John C. and Anna Belle Morse. She departed this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at MCV Hospital in Richmond. Marie graduated from West End High School before moving to East Orange, N.J., where she met and married Cleveland Eugene. She was employed by St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, N.J., until she retired. Marie was a member of St Taylor RZUA Church where not only was she a mother of the church, she was a member of the Missionary Circle and the choir and she loved to sing “There is Something About That Name” and “He’s done So Much For Me.”

Cherishing her memories are one son: Richard and his wife Juanita, three grandchildren: Rachel, Sierra and Isaiah; one brother: Sterling Morse; two sisters: Irene Carter and Florence Morse; two step grandchildren: Vicky Mateen and April Eugene; two step grandchildren: Ageenah and Aquelah and a host of nieces and friends.

She was predeceased by seven brothers, John, Frank, Richard, James, William, Earl and Samuel and two sisters: Rosa Morse Childs and Anna Belle Morse Taylor.

A funeral was held Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at St. Taylor RZUA.

Services are entrusted to Carter’s Funeral Home, Clarksville.
