Marlin G. Johnstin

Mr. Marlin G. “Sonny” Johnstin, age 68, of South Hill died Friday, April 30, 2010.  

He is survived by his wife, Marie S. Johnstin of the home, a step-son, Bryan S Spake (Shannon) of Alaska and step-daughter, Vicky S Evans (Jeff) of South Hill; a brother Richard “Dick” Johnstin (Annette) of Mass and two sisters, Barbara Ormes (Ralph) and Patricia Flynn all of Florida.  Also surviving are two step-grandchildren, Jenny (Mark) Warren and Jeffrey (Amanda) Melton and two step-great-grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper Warren.  

Mr. Johnstin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Johnstin. Mr. Johnstin was retired after 24 years with VDOT, a life member of Southside Rescue Squad, and an Army veteran. A funeral was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment in Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse.  

The family received friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to Southside Baptist Church, P O Box 295, LaCrosse, VA 23950.
