Obituaries

Martha Powell Davis

Martha Powell Davis of Davis Trail, South Boston passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013. She was born Dec. 31, 1958 to the late Major Powell Sr. and Fannie Younger Powell and was 54 years of age. Mrs. Davis was married to the late Charlie Davis.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Chancie Wagner, Shanice Davis and Sectric Powell, all of South Boston and four grandchildren, a sister Linda Powell, three brothers, Raleigh, Donnell and James Powell, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Yancey conducting the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be on Friday at Dunn & Sons Funeral Home, 540 N. Main Street, Halifax from 1-7 p.m.

The family is receiving friends at the home, 1019 Davis Trail, South Boston.

Arrangements are by Dunn & Sons Funeral Service.
