Mary Lou Breeden, 77, of Vernon Hill, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019. She was born in Albemarle County on Nov. 17, 1941, daughter of the late Robert Hoy Breeden and the late Isabelle Leona Mealer Breeden. She was a member of Oak Level Presbyterian Church and Wilson Memorial Ruritan Club and she retired as secretary of Halifax County High School.

Ms. Breeden is survived by special friends, Dianne Simmons, Evelyn Henderson, Elaine Burnette and Nancy Dalton; special cousin, Cliff Mealer; and her furry friends – two dogs and four cats. She was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Joyce Ann and Lilly Carol Breeden, special aunt, Cecelia Henderson and special cousin, Edward Henderson.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. at Oak Level Presbyterian Church with Rev. Thad Decker officiating. Burial will be private.

There will be a time of fellowship following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
