Meralyn Morgan Fleming Clark Jones / May 15, 2018

Meralyn Morgan Fleming Clark Jones, 87, of Martinsville, died Saturday, May 5, 2018. She was born on July 15, 1930 in Clarksville, to the late Luther James Morgan and Frances Chappell Morgan. Born in Clarksville, Mrs. Jones made many moves as a child with her family, including Martinsville, and Lexington. She attended Ferrum College. Most of her adult life was devoted to raising her children and being a homemaker, although she did have several part time jobs and did volunteer work with hospitals and charities. Quite a mover, as an adult she lived in Richmond, and Brookneal; Raleigh, Apex and Fayetteville, Steele’s Tavern, Clarksville, and finally back to Martinsville.

Her travel bug led her on adventures to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Kazakhstan, Nova Scotia, and Canada. Her love of life, her sense of humor and her unquestioning love and support will be missed by all.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nutt and husband Harvey of Wake Forest, sons, Rusty Fleming and wife Jennifer of Clover, S.C., Chuck Hutcheson and wife Debbie of Brevard, N.C., and Nathan Fleming and wife Koolyash of Shenzhen, China; sister, Jeanne Morgan of Clarksville; husband, Gene Jones of Martinsville; granddaughters, Sarah Fleming and Asena Fleming, Madison Hansen and Emma Hensen; grandsons, Ashley Edwards, Travis Hutcheson and wife Mandi, Samuel Fleming, Jonah Fleming, Joshua Fleming, and Noah Fleming; great-grandchildren Bree, Rion, Nadia and Aidan; two stepsons, Jeff Jones and wife Kim and Jonathan Jones; step-daughter Julie Gooding and husband Chet; and step-grandchildren Zach, Ben, Gabe, Olivia and Sophia Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at Clarksville Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville.
