Michael Karl Gau, husband of Lori V. Gau, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at the age of 66. He was born in Mankato, Minn., on Sept. 15, 1951 to the late Claire Burch and Alvin Gau. Mr. Gau was a postal clerk with the United States Navy where he retired with 22 years of service. As a civilian, he worked an additional 20 years as a postal clerk with the USPS. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Michael Gau is survived by a son, Karl Gau (Samantha) of Virginia Beach; sister Judy Mulligan (Mike) of California; brothers Jeff Gau (Joyce) of Minneapolis, Dan Gau (Tracy) of Crystal, Minn., and Tom Gau (Jane) of Maple Grove, Minn., and a granddaughter, Ava Gau. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Charlotte Peterson of Newport News and sisters-in-law, Linda Gasper of Putnam Valley, N.Y., and Carolyn Turturro of White Plains, N.Y.

A funeral mass will be said Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 3 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Rev. Father Rogelio Largoza will officiate. The family received friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 7:30-9 p.m.
