Evelena Edmonds “Dee Dee” Pegram

Mrs. Evelena Edmonds “Dee Dee” Pegram, 62, of Bane Street, South Boston, died November 28, 2012 at the University of North Carolina Medical Center, Chapel Hill, NC. She was born in Halifax County on March 22, 1950, a daughter of the late Mr. Welford Edmonds and Mrs. Evelena White Edmonds and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children, Mr. Darnell Pegram of Keysville and Mr. Jermaine Pegram of South Boston; one brother, Mr. William Edmonds and wife Catherine of Scottsburg; one sister, Mrs. Hallie Dismuke and husband Johnnie of South Boston; three nieces, Ms. Lanessa Edmonds, Mrs. Nakisha D. Easley and Mrs. Mashonda D. Richardson; one nephew, Mr. Chavis Edmonds; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 1:00 p.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William F. Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie and Hallie Dismuke, 1800 Chamberlain Street, South Boston. Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, North Main Street, South Boston.
