Nannie Odell Womack Younger

Nannie Odell Womack Younger, 85, of Nathalie, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018. She was born in Halifax County on May 1, 1933, daughter of the late Herman Lee Womack and Tassie Ola Nash Womack. She was married to the late Charles Maynard Younger and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Ms. Younger is survived by her daughter, Brenda Y. Reed and husband Calvin of Nathalie; her son, Larry D. Younger and wife Cathy of Halifax; five grandchildren, Nathan Younger and wife Dana of Lynchburg, Seth Younger of Athens, Ga., Justin Younger of Halifax, Travis Donaldson and wife Tracy of Cleveland, N.C., and Bradley Donaldson of Nathalie; two great-grandchildren, Drake Younger of Halifax and Rylan Younger of Lynchburg; two sisters, Marie Alderson of Vernon Hill and Kathleen Perkins of Halifax; one brother, Harold Womack and wife Margarite of Vernon Hill; one sister-in-law, Shirley Womack of Halifax.

A funeral will be held Friday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kristopher Cook officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Powell Funeral Home.
