Nelma Jant

Nelma Jant, 78, of Boydton, entered eternal rest Friday, April 11, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcenter, South Hill.

Miss Jant was born in Mecklenburg County, April 17, 1935 to the late Viola Ellis. She was a graduate of West End High School and a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.

She was formerly employed by Russell Stover Candies as a server.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rosa Jant and one brother, Thomas Jant.

Cherishing her memories are her two children, Shirley Mason (William) of Boydton, and Adolphus Jant (Anita) of Clarksville, two grandchildren, Marlon Jant of Norfolk, and Corey Jant (Thelma) of South Hill, four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Alayah, Covan and Braeden; one sister, Bessie Yarborough of Goldsboro, N.C., one brother, Walter Lee Jant of Charleston, S.C. and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

A funeral will be held Friday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church, with Rev. Toney W. Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Arrangements are by C. H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
