Nicola Palumbo

Nicola “Nick” Palumbo of Halifax died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021. He was born in Napoli, Italy on June 9, 1947 and was 74 years of age. He was the son of the late Francesco Palumbo and the late Antonietta Tiano Palumbo. He was married to Antonietta Montuori Palumbo who survives.

He was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church. He was the owner of O’Sole Mio restaurant.

Mr. Palumbo is survived by his wife, Antonietta M. Palumbo of Halifax; his children, Antonella Powell and husband David R. of Halifax, Lucia Pugliese and husband Alessandro of Radford, Loredana Parker and husband Jonathan of Forest, and Franco Palumbo and girlfriend Melissa Owen of Halifax; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Rosanna Palumbo of Naples, Italy, Domenica Palumbo of Naples, Italy and Gerarda Palumbo of Naples, Italy; two nephews of South Boston, Viny Sarnataro and wife Katie, and Andrea Sarnataro; and many other nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Paschal Catholic Church with the Father Raner officiating. Entombment to follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg.

The family received friends Sunday at Powell Funeral Home.
