Odell Harris Penick

Odell Harris Penick, 76, of Chase City, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at Chase City Health and Rehab, Chase City.

Mrs. Penick was born in Mecklenburg County on April 10, 1941 to the late Charles Lee, Sr. and Marie Walker Harris. She received her education in the Mecklenburg County school system and was a member of Harpers Temple Apostolic Church, Clarksville. Mrs. Penick was a former employee of Jonbil, Inc.

Cherishing her memories are her husband, John Penick of Chase City, four children, Dorothy Penick, Dora Evans (Willie), Brenda Penick (Ray) and Eddie Penick all of Chase City, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shields and Marie Redd (Elijah) all of Chase City, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Penick was preceded in death by two children, Joann and John Penick, and twelve siblings: Charles, Eddie, Richard, Otis, Willie, Herman, Woodrow, Albert James, Nancy, Bessie, Margaret and Mamie.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City, with Elder Vernell Harper, officiating. Burial will follow in Harpers Temple Apostolic Church Cemetery, Clarksville.

Public viewing will be Tuesday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
