Patrick Henry Stephens of South Boston died Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence at the age of 85. Born in Pittsylvania County on Dec. 30, 1931 to the late Minnie Stephens and Alove Stephens, he was married to Fannie Glass Stephens. He was a retired employee of Southern in Danville of 54 years.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by a daughter, Doris Williams of Madison Heights, a granddaughter, Kelly Johnson of Madison Heights, two grandsons, Dameian Williams and Derrick Johnson, two great granddaughters, Shonn Johnson and Karneron Williams, a sister, Gladys Brown, two sisters-in-law, Hazel Glass and Mildred Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Friday, May 19 at noon at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Thomas Divens officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 3133 Birch Elmo Road, South Boston. Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
