Paul Henry Easley of Danville and formerly of Halifax County, died Thursday, Sept. 3 at Stratford Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danville at the age of 88 .

Mr. Easley was born in Halifax County on May 19, 1932 to the late Isaac Easley and Chloe Ballou Easley. He was a US Army veteran who served in the Korean War.

Mr. Easley is survived by his faithful daughter, Sebrena Easley Sweeney (Larry, Sr.) of Jacksonville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Shari L. Sweeney of Okinawa, Japan; a grandson, Larry J. Sweeney II of Jacksonville, N.C.; a very caring niece, LuvRonda Jones of Waldorf, Md.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by six sisters: Bertha Easley, Rosa Sanders, Ellen Tennial, Grace Chestnut, Fannie Easley and Virginia Proctor; and one brother, Ike Easley.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. with services at Oak Ridge Cemetery with John Williams officiating. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be Wednesday from noon-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
