Pearl Jeanette Rice Yancey

Pearl Jeanette Rice Yancey, 93, of South Boston died April 19, 2010 at the Woodview. She was born June 22, 1916 in Halifax County, a daughter of the late Johnny and Jeanette Rice. She was married to the late Willie Jackson Yancey and was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughters, Joyce Ann Stone and husband Bernice of Cluster Springs, Carolyn Marie Mancusco and husband Sam of Hampton; sons, Willie Jackson Yancey and wife Deme of Raleigh, N.C., Herbert Lee Yancey and wife JoAnn of Richmond, Carson Wayne Yancey and wife Rosa Lee of South Hill, John William Yancey and wife Phyllis of Salisbury, N.C. and Jackie Lynn Yancey and wife Campo of Richmond; 16 grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Allen Yancey and nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Virgilina Cemetery with Rev. Norman Talley officiating.
