Phyllis Williams Foster

Phyllis Williams Foster of 1180 Foster Road, Alton, died at her home on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013. Born to Rennie Turner Williams and Keith Williams on March 31, 1926, she lived her entire life in Halifax County.

She was married on November 21, 1947 to William Sam Foster who survives. In addition she is survived by their son, William Joe Foster and his wife, Anne of Danville; three granddaughters and their husbands, Ellen Foster of Charlottesville, Sarah and Timothy Robinson of Greensboro, N.C., and Rebecca and Matthew Miller of Canton, N.C.,

Phyllis was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where family and friends gathered for her funeral on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Ralph Hawkins and the Rev. Robert Huffman officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church or to the church cemetery fund, 1133 Foster Road, Alton, VA 24520.
