Ray Carson Boyd, 74, husband of Trauti Goletz Boyd, died at his home on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021. He was born on Jan. 4, 1947 to the late Harvey Bruce Boyd and the late Lottie Hite Boyd. Ray was the owner of Quick-Way Salvage in Halifax County. He loved antique cars and restoring them himself.

In addition to his wife, Trauti, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle Boyd Tween and husband Brian of East Chester, N.Y.; son, Michael Boyd of Wake Forest, N.C.; granddaughter, Maggie Tween; brothers, Marshall Boyd and wife Tina of Kingsland, Ga., and Horace Boyd and wife Christine of New Rochelle, N.Y.; nieces, nephews and other family members, also his former wife, Nancy Boyd of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice Moderelli.

A funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be an open invitation and viewing on Thursday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
