Renita Gay Logan

Renita Gay Logan of Midway Park, N.C., formerly of Halifax County, died Feb. 23, 2013 at Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, N.C., at the age of 53. Ms. Logan was born in Halifax County on Feb. 4, 1960 and was the daughter of William Hoover Logan and Mary Dixon Logan. She was human resource director at Coastal Carolina Community College and attended Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Jacksonville.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Samuel Lee Rivers III of Raleigh, N.C., a sister, Lori G. Logan of Atlanta, four brothers, William S. Logan Jr. and wife, Doris of South Boston, Stanley K. Logan of Richmond, Rodney W. Logan of South Boston and Michael A. Logan of Atlanta, an uncle, Lancy C. Dixon and wife, Martha of Pittsburgh, Pa., an aunt, Elizabeth Finney of Fayetteville, N.C., and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 28 at noon at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie N. Yancey and Elder Bernard Marable officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of her parents, 1015 Mallard Lane, South Boston.

Public viewing for family and friends was Wednesday, at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston. Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
