Robert Albert Jennings

Robert Albert Jennings, 70, of Pine Height Trail, Halifax died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Pittsylvania County on Jan. 18, 1943, son of the late John Wesley and Mary Lee Womack Jennings.

Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Gracie Edmondson Jennings; one son, Ronald Barksdale of Halifax; one sister, Elder Barbara Graves of Sutherlin; four brothers, Thurman Jennings of Baltimore, Md., John W. Jennings, Samuel E. Jennings and wife Safiyyah and Charlie H. Jennings and wife Faye, all of Trenton, N.J.; two brothers-in-law, James Edmondson and wife Nannie and Richard Edmondson; one sister-in-law, Lillie M. Brown and husband Lewis of Halifax; two aunts, Flossie Stokes of Farmville and Annie M. Kirby of Halifax; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter M. Jennings.

A funeral will be held Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Suffragan Bishop Leonia Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 1120 Pine Height Trail, Halifax.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
