Robert Lamont Smith affectionately known as “Mane” was born on Nov. 19, 1974 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the Robert Floyd Smith and the late Marjorie Lee Smith. He departed this earthly life on Nov. 1, 2020.

Robert accepted Christ at an early age, where he was baptized and joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. He was a member of the Rocky Mount Little Angels.

Robert also followed his father’s footsteps as a Master Mason. He also enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He loved to laugh and he always had a joke or a wise crack to make others laugh. He was a family man and loved to enjoy times with his cousins and friends on any occasions.

Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife: Sandra (Nikki) of the home; father: Robert Floyd Smith (Betty); two daughters: Karolyn Gillis of Wake Forest, N.C. and De’quasha Smith of Chase City, four sons: Dequan Smith (Constance), Javon Smith (Jasmine) both of Chase City, Jamier Smith (Tracy) of Alberta, and Lamont Smith of the home; two step-sons: D’Andre Towler and Christopher Thorpe both of Clarksville, five grandchildren: King, Alaya, Kailani, Dequan Jr. and Kamaya. two sisters: Kimberlee Smith of Skipwith, and Monica Smith-Tucker (Erskine) of Philadelphia,mother and father–in-law: Rebecca and Robert Towler of Clarksville, two aunts: Virginia Powell and Lynette Bullock; two uncles: Nathaniel Smith and Gregory Tucker. Robert had a close relationship with his niece, Marjorie Tucker and nephews: James and Jaunta Tucker and host of other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Majorie Smith and nephew, Amotio Smith.

Graveside Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.

Services were entrusted to Carter’s Funeral Home, Clarksville.
