Rommie Lee “Bee” Adcock, 87, husband of Christine Davis Adcock, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at his home.

He was born August 23, 1922 to the late Ollie C. and Mollie Wiles Adcock. Rommie Lee served in the First Armored Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he received. He was a member of VFW Post 8169 and DAV.

He was a retired boiler room technician with Burlington Industries and was a retired tobacco and cattle farmer.

A member of Nelson Baptist Church, a funeral will be held there at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Jim McAlister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Jim Weaver of Raleigh, N.C. and grandson, Barton “Bart” Wester and his wife, Michelle, of Rolesville, N.C. His great-grandchildren, Samantha and Brad Wester, of Rolesville, N.C. and brother, Ernest C. “EC” Adcock, both of Richmond, also survive.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
