Rosa Ferrell Ellington, 88, of Chase City, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. She was born May 22, 1933 in Charlotte County, daughter of the late Richard and Creola Ferrell. 

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Skipwith, retired from Jonbil Manufacturing Company and was also a self-employed beauty consultant with Hazel Keller Cosmetics since 1979. Rosa loved her family dearly and she always put everyone else first. She appreciated and loved her gifts from her secret pals at New Hope Baptist Church. She loved watching TV, talking to and seeing people, and watching the birds eat and swing on the bird feeders outside. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo. 

Rosa is survived by her four children, Jack Ellington (Cookie) of Blythe, Ga., Donnie Ellington (Wanda) of South Boston, Jimmy Ellington (Debbie) of Moseley and Shelly Griffin (John) of Chase City; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister, and her grandson. 

Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Ferrell family cemetery, Saxe, with Rev. Mike Reynolds officiating.
