Rosa Lee “Peggy” Smith of South Boston died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. She was born in South Boston on July 9, 1928 and was 93 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Sidney Lee Smith and the late Irene Bowen Smith.

She was a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated from Longwood College and continued her education at RPI. Peggy was known for her spontaneous travels and love of Broadway shows. She loved helping others and will be remembered as a loving and caring person.

Ms. Smith is survived by a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
