Roy E. Moore Sr.

Roy E. Moore Sr. 97, of Chase City, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post 43.

Roy was the son of the late Oscar F. Moore Sr. and Elva Allen Moore.

He is survived by his children, Roy (Eddie) Moore Jr. and wife, Judy, Kathy Tucker and husband, Roger, Michael Moore and wife, Kay, Sharon Hatley and husband, Tim, brother, H. H. (Red) Moore, grandchildren, Roy Moore III and wife, Tina, Curtis Moore and wife, Amy, Tammy Brown and fiancée, Will, Amy Moore and fiancée, Justin, Randy Tucker, Abby Hatley, and Tina Moore, great grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Lauren Zunikoff and husband, Dan, Holly Callahan and husband, Jarrett, Collin Moore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the widower of Jena Owen Moore and preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sandy Tucker, brother, O. F. Moore, and a sister, Agnes Moore Rowekamp.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 8 at Woodland Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post 43.
