Obituaries Roy WendtSoVaNow.com / April 06, 2021
Roy Wendt, 90, went to join his beloved wife, Donna, early on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Originally from New Jersey, Roy was able to travel the U.S. and the world, first serving in the army in Korea, then living in a variety of different states, and visiting many other countries. His careers saw him work for Borden Chemical, though he retired from Georgia Pacific. An avid golfer, with two holes-in-one to his credit, he was also active as the handicap chairman and a contributor to a variety of different fund-raising tournaments. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and humor. His most important thing was his family; his daughters, Karen Wendt and Jenni Wendt, his son, Ted Wendt, daughter-in-law Kim Wendt, and granddaughter Callie Wendt celebrate the time they had with him. He also leaves behind a wealth of good friends and extended family. He will be missed. The family received friends Saturday, April 3 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Lake Country SPCA. Online condolences may be made at http://www.wclfh.com. |
