Sally Dabbs Wagner of New York and formerly of Halifax County died on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital in New York at the age of 76.

Ms. Wagner was born in Halifax County on July 20, 1941 to the late James Dabbs and Lola Hudson Dabbs.

Ms. Wagner is survived by three sons, Nicholas Wagner, Lorenzo Wagner and Harry Wagner; a daughter, Shelia Winfield; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five sisters, Estelle Edmondson, Lillian Edmondson and Saluda Carrington, all of Clover, Lottie Morton and Mary Dabbs, both of Albany, N.Y.; a brother, Jesse Dabbs of Danville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lovelace Dabbs, Chester Dabbs, and David Earl Dabbs; and a sister, Flossie Teel.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clover with Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the service Saturday.
