Sarah Thompson Pointer

Sarah Thompson Pointer of South Boston died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Heritage Hall in Brookneal at the age of 95. Born in Halifax County on Oct. 30, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Traynham and Minnie Thompson and was married to the late Winston Pointer.

Mrs. Pointer is survived by three devoted friends, Marilyn Lewis of Nathalie, who was her caregiver, Carolyn Penick of South Boston and Ione Stovall of Maryland and a host of other cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted on Monday, May 13 at noon at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Rose Garden cemetery.

Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
