Sharon Gail Walker, 69, of Wilmington, N.C. died Friday, Nov. 1, 2019. She was born on Sept. 22, 1950, daughter of the late Jenny Hackney and step-father, Aaron M. Hackney and father, Robert Sidney Walker.

Sharon was last employed with Elementis of Castle Haynes, N.C. She served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1975 and was active in the National Guard until 1978.

She is survived by her sister, Linda W. Cole (Junior) and her brother, Timothy A. Hackney (Karen) of South Boston. Also surviving are her niece, Jodi Spethman of Lincoln, Neb. and nephew, Gabriel A. Hackney of South Boston. She leaves behind many friends and relatives.

A small, private service with military rites will be held Thursday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.
