Sharon Lea Walker, 70, of Halifax, died Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was born in Washington DC on Oct. 25, 1949, daughter of the late George McCaffrey and the late Marie McCaffrey. She was married to Melvin Ronald Dawson, who survives, and was of the Episcopal faith.

Mrs. Walker was employed at the American Legion Post 139 in Arlington, where she had many friends and which she diligently and successfully managed for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Ronald Dawson of Halifax; her son, Shaun Mohler (Becky) of Arlington; sister, Marilene Lunnie (Pete) of Edinburg, brother, Danny McCaffrey of Edinburg; and nieces and nephews, Kellen, Jessica, Brian, Morgan and Evan.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul McCaffrey, and her loving grandmother, Viola Rue Lefevre, with whom she spent many hours reading and who instilled in her a lifetime enjoyment of books.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
