Shirley Ann Cheatham Walker

Shirley Ann Cheatham Walker, 58, of Chase City died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at Chase City Health and Rehab Center.

Ms. Walker was born in Chase City on June 20, 1961 to Mamie Pennick Cheatham and the late Jimmy Cheatham. She attended Bluestone Senior High School in Skipwith, and Concord Baptist Church in Chase City. Ms. Walker was formerly employed by Red Barn Convenience Store.



Cherishing her memories are one daughter, Felicia Walker of Chase City; an adopted son, Donte Lambert of Chase City; stepson, Richard Oliver Jr. of Clarksville; two stepdaughters, Justine Terry (Shawn) of Keysville and Tameka Puryear (Jason) of Chase City; two grandchildren, Zaiasha Walker and Destiny Boyd; her mother, Mamie Pennick Cheatham; five brothers, Alfred Cheatham, Jimmy Cheatham and Randy Mickey (Linda) all of Chase City, William H. Mickey (Janice) of South Boston, and Marshall Mickey (Wanda) of Red Oak; two sisters, Mary Reavis of Chase City and Grindl Staten (Dennis) of Drakes Branch, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Boyd, and one sister, Donna Cheatham.


A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 24, at the chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home, Chase City with Rev. Linda Goode officiating. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
