Spencer Dion Smith

Spencer Dion Smith of Ashcake Creek Road, Scottsburg died Nov. 10, 2012 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 48.

Born in Halifax County on Feb. 16, 1064, he was the son of Ollie Carden Smith and the late Robert Smith. He was a member of Spanish Grove Baptist Church and was employed by H&M Logging Company.

Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Monique Ferrell and husband, Dion of South Boston and Tamia Brooks of Clover; his mother and step father, Ollie C. McLemore and Joseph McLemore of Scottsburg; a sister, Shavown Brown of Temple Hills, Md., a brother, Anthony Smith and wife Helen of Scottsburg and a grandson; a devoted friend, Jennifer Conner and her son, Traven Conner and a host of other relatives and friends

A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. at Spanish Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. William J. Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dion and Monique Ferrell, 1130 River Road, South Boston.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, North Main Street, South Boston.
