Stanley Bryant Terry

Stanley Bryant “Road Hawk” Terry of Scottsburg, died Thursday May 11, 2017 at his residence at the age of 58. Mr. Terry was born in Halifax County on Aug. 25, 1958 to the late John David Terry and Dollie Green Terry. He was married to Cynthia McCargo Terry and was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.

Mr. Terry is survived his wife, Cynthia M. Terry of home; two sons, Danny Terry and wife Angelica of Richmond and Brian Terry and wife DeShara of Chesapeake; three grandsons, Javon, Nehemiyah and Zion Terry; two brothers, Michael Terry Sr. and wife Donna of Scottsburg and Craig Terry and wife Shirley of Gales Ferry, Conn., three sisters, Linda Dixon and husband James of Clover, Audrey Crews and husband Keith and Ida C. Terry, all of Scottsburg; his father and mother-in-law, James and Hazel Wimbush of Java; a brother-in-law: Phillip McCargo; three sisters-in-law, Natalie McCargo, Patricia McCargo and Zenobia Terry; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: William “Billy” Green, Clevie Green and Ida M. Terry.

A funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church with Pastor Alfred Chandler officiating and Rev. Michael Terry, Sr. eulogist. Burial will follow in The Terry Family Cemetery, Clover.

The family is receiving friends at the residence, 2064 Dryburg Road, Scottsburg.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

Arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home.
