Steven Edward Russell

Steven Edward Russell, 53, of Colemans Ferry Road, Randolph died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 in a Farmville hospital.

He was born in Halifax County on July 31, 1959, to Samuel Whitfield Russell Sr. and Gloria Culley Russell. Steve was a veteran with an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Whitfield Russell Sr. and Gloria Culley Russell. He is survived by his brother, Samuel Whitfield Russell Jr. and his wife Alice Seigla Russell and their children, April Daniel, Beth Lassitter, and Grace Kelehar. Also surviving are two special aunts, Ethel Everhart and Iris Redd, who spent many hours seeing to the needs of Steve prior to his death.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Samuel W. Russell Jr. officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 10-11 a.m.
