Steven William Watts died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 at the age of 69 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of John Harvey Watts and Fannie Conner Watts who made their home in Cluster Springs.

He is survived by his brothers John Eugene Watts and wife Sue of Manteo, N.C., Leon Watkins Watts and wife Bettye of Alton, sister Mary Carolyn Weiss and husband Mark of Chesapeake, nephews David and Jason Watts, nieces Cody Keane and Casey Weiss, grandnephews Michael, Hunter, and Jacob Watts, grandniece Julia Epperly and longtime soulmate Sandra Callahan.

Steve was a generous and goodhearted man, a nature lover and talented musician with many life-long friends. Steve continued his father’s passion for country music growing into bluegrass and hosting many “Pickin’ Porch” concerts and benefit pig pickings.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the Halifax County Cancer Association, PO Box 1891, Halifax, VA 24558.

Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
