Suzan Allen Maxwell, 62, of South Boston, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 at Chippenham Hospital. She was born in South Boston on May 23, 1957. She was preceded by her parents, William J. Allen and Iris Lee Glass Allen and husband, Stuart Maxwell.

Suzan was the member of First Baptist Church of South Boston, a retired Halifax County teacher and guidance counselor and gave generously to the Halifax County Humane Society.

Suzan A. Maxwell is survived by her brother, William Thomas Allen II (Bill) and wife Patricia W. Allen (Tish); a niece, Ashley (Allen) Woods and her husband Bart, grand-niece Skylar, nephew William (Billy) J. Allen, brother-in-law, William (Bill) Maxwell and wife Catherine (Dee Dee) L. Maxwell and sister-in-law, Julia (Kitty) Maxwell Godsey, many cousins and friends.

A funeral will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of South Boston with Pastor Bowman.
