Tammy Annette Vicks Duke, 39, of 226 Gentry Ridge Road, Roxboro, N.C. died May 30, 2010 at Person Memorial Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on October 5, 1970, a daughter of Vera G. Vicks and Edward Vicks, Sr. of South Boston and was married to Jonathan “J.D.” Duke. She was of the Baptist faith, was a member of the Women of The Moose and a technician with Triangle Urology.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by one sister, Lisa V. Conner and husband Steve of Halifax; one brother, Eddie Vicks and wife, Judy of South Boston; her mother-in-law, Sharon Duke of Fayetteville, N.C. and father-in-law, Bonnard Duke of Springfield, Mo.; a nephew, Kevin Conner and niece, Michelle Thurnes and husband James. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Edna Vicks and Eugene and Marjorie Gordon and a nephew, Bryan Duffer.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George McCullough, III officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
