Thelma Clark Murray, 100, of Oxford, N.C., died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Murray was born in Granville County, N.C., Sept. 7, 1920 to the late Everett and Annie Johnson Clark. She attended the schools of Granville County, and at an early age joined Zora Chapel United Methodist Church, Bullock, N.C. There, she served as president of United Methodist Women, trustee, Communion stewardess and on the hospitality committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and helping others anyway that she could.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her sister, Cora Lee Royster of Oxford, N.C.; her devoted nieces and nephews and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, George Murray, sisters, Lucille C. Bullock and Zelma H. Burwell; brothers, Earnest, Lefoy, Charles, Paul and George.

A funeral was held Tuesday, March 2, at the chapel of C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Walter McLeod and Rev. Leroy Worth conducting the services.

Burial followed in Zora Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bullock, N.C.
