Thomas Francis House Sr.

Thomas Francis House Sr., 75, of Red Oak died Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Mecklenburg County on Oct. 10, 1945 to the late James Edward and Louise Ardell Brown House. He attended East End High School in South Hill, graduating class of 1964. He moved to Washington, DC and gained employment as a stationary engineer and relocated back to Virginia in 2006 working for Morgan Lumber Company. Mr. House was a member of Salem Baptist Church, served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife, Mintie Izilia House of Red Oak; son, Thomas Francis House Jr. of Silver Spring, Md.; two stepchildren, Leon Cooper (Kecia) of Silver Spring, Md., and Tracey Collins (Rodney) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Alphonso House of Richmond and Donald House (Renae) of Boydton; six sisters in Christ, Loretta Bailey, Dorothy Foster and Marlene Thomson, all of Red Oak, Ann Brown of Washington, DC, Patricia Brown and Helen Thompson, both of Chase City; sister-in-law, Eunice L. House of Chase City, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Deborah Ingram; brother, James House and sister-in-law, Joyce House.

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Salem Baptist Church pavilion, Red Oak, with Rev. Loretta Bailey delivering the eulogy.
