Thomas Monroe Jennings, 68, of Berry Hill Road, South Boston died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at Danville Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on Aug. 5, 1949, a son of the late James Jennings and Annie Waller Jennings and was married to Evaline Stewart Jennings.
In addition to his wife,

Mr. Jennings is survived by one son, Thomas Cole of Alexandria; two daughters, Chiquita Irving and Jacqueline Isaac, both of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Estelle Polk and Josephine Younger, both of Nathalie, Mary Cherry of Rocky Mount, N.C., Shirley Currin and Linda Jennings, both of South Boston and Nancy Torian of Roxboro, N.C., two brothers, Charlie Waller of Newark, N.J., and Leon Jennings of Roxboro, N.C., and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

One sister, Christine Jackson and two brothers, Joseph Jennings and Henry Waller, preceded him in death.

A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 12, at 2:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ with Rev. Tony Jennings as eulogist. Burial followed in Sunflower Baptist Church Cemetery.
