Tom Karl Malone, 66, of Durham, N.C., and formerly of Halifax County, died on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on Sept. 6, 1954, son of the late Glennie Malone and Louise Winstead Malone. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and a retired police officer.

Mr. Malone is survived by his wife, Laurell Malone of Durham, N.C.; one son, Chauncey Malone and one daughter, Megan Malone; one brother, Roland Malone; three sisters, Mary Lee Doomes, Rosa Brandon and Julia Oliver; one brother-in-law, Douglas Oliver and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by six siblings.

A funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines a Face Mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be Thursday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
