Virginia Dare Seamster Leadbetter / October 11, 2018

Virginia Dare Seamster Leadbetter, of Halifax, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Jan. 31, 1947, a daughter of the late Elvin Seamster, Sr. and Nannie Conner Seamster and was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church. She worked at Burlington Industries for 26 years, until it closed and then she worked at Walmart for 15 years. She loved working, especially at Walmart where she had a lot of friends.

Ms. Leadbetter is survived by her son, Ronnie and his wife Brandy; a sister, Joyce S. Dawson and husband Cecil; her brother, Elijah “Butch” Seamster and four nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

A funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Gooch officiating. Burial followed at Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family received friends one hour prior to service at Powell Funeral Home.
