Virginia Dixon Crews of South Boston died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at Sentara Woodview. She was born in Halifax County Sept. 25, 1921 and was 96 years old. She was the daughter of the late James John Dixon and the late Willie Frances Landrum Dixon and was married to the late Albert Lacy Crews Sr. She, along with her husband, were founding members of Second Baptist Church. She was a compassionate and loving mother and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include two sons, David E. Crews and Wayne I. Crews and wife Fran, all of South Boston, a sister, Joyce Powell of Danville, a brother, Harry Dixon and wife Rachel of South Boston, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, A. Lacy Crews Jr. and Jimmy R. Crews, a daughter, Joan C. Hall, a granddaughter, one great granddaughter, five brothers, and one sister.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
