Virginia Tuck Smith, 94, of Scottsburg, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Woodview Nursing Home. She was born May 21, 1926 in Halifax County, daughter of the late Louis P. Tuck and the late Laura Miller Tuck and was married to the late Cephas Bernard Smith. She was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Wayne Keith Smith and wife Nancy of Scottsburg; one daughter, Melba Smith Tyler and husband Stephen of Richmond; five grandchildren, James, Jonathan, Katie, Samuel and Michael Tyler, all of Richmond; and a number of nieces and nephews.

One sister, Flossie Tuck Ward and two brothers, Charnie Tuck and Louie Tuck, preceded her in death.

A funeral was held Sunday, June 21, at 2 p.m. at Scottsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Kermit Evans officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery, Scottsburg.

The family received friends one hour prior to service at Scottsburg Baptist Church and other times at her home 1056 MacDonald Road, Scottsburg.
