Obituaries Wallace Oliver WazekaSoVaNow.com / February 22, 2021
Wallace Oliver Wazeka, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021. He was born in Halifax County on Oct. 20, 1942, to the late Teddy Wazeka and the late Lillianne Riley Wazeka and was married to the love of his life, Carolyn Watts Wazeka, for 53 years. Wallace attended Mountain Road Baptist Church and he loved his church family immensely. He also enjoyed gardening and relaxing while watching his beloved birds. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wazeka is survived by his daughters, Patricia Moss (Mark) of Florida and Katherine Arthur (Darryl) of Alton; his sons, Ronald Mark Wetherington (Connie) of Alabama and Michael Wetherington (Sherre) of Illinois; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Robert “Bobby”, William “Cecil” and Anthony Wazeka, a sister, Barbara W. Newcomb, a granddaughter, Krystina Hooker and two great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Wetherington and Sarah Emma Arthur. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
