Obituaries

Wayne Gordon Betterton

Wayne Gordon Betterton, of Nathalie, died Feb. 23, 2013 at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1952 in Halifax County, a son of the late Elmo Thornton Betterton and Berta Talbott Betterton. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church.

Mr. Betterton is survived by one daughter, Christy Dawn Miles of Winston-Salem, N.C., three granddaughters, Destiny Ramos, Alejanara Ramos, Serenity Miles; one grandson, Zander Miles; two brothers, Wesley “Jim” Betterton and David Betterton, both of Nathalie; one sister, Mae Yeatts of Java. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Betterton and George Betterton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Liberty Christian Church on Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Owen officiating.

The family will receive friends at 1117 Millstone Church Trail, Nathalie.
